realization ...

"Sometimes it gets hard,
being in this game alone,
trying to work towards something great,
then it`s like - but wait,
here I am all alone trying to get things done,
but then I realize - i`m all alone."

" Striving for the top,
with no one beside me to help in the journey,
I appreciate that help from Him,
because he can take me places no one can,
but then I still remember,
I can`t do this all alone."

"Fear will hold you back from moving forward,
like a bad habit - something i`ve got to break"

Legacy to last a lifetime ...

It`s not until someone is gone that you know the true impact that they have on your life. I`ve come to realize that no matter how much you may not think that you are close to someone, they still leave an impression on your heart, your soul, and your life. Of recent events, I lost my grandmother. When I first found out it didn`t move me like most thought it should have. I was saddened of course of the loss, but I never really had time to spend with her because - like the rest of my family - she lived out of state. So there wasn`t that emotional connection to her that I have with those family members that I am much closer to. However, I still have those few memories and moments I shared with her that I cherish.

Of all things that make it easier to deal with this loss is that she was a TRUE image of what a woman of God should look like. Which in the end, leaves me rested assure that she has gone to be with the Lord. I am happy because she no longer has to deal with the worries of this world, and she can rest peacefully in Heaven. The common denominator that everyone could say about her. Most times that i`ve gone to funerals, they have NEVER been like this one. Everyone was filled with praise and rejoice because we all knew she made it over. A place where mostly all people strive to be, one of them being me.

She has been an inspiration to me more then I even knew. All I want to do is continue the legacy she has started by continuing to plant the word of God in peoples lives, but most importantly my kids (when I have them lol) The most important thing in my life is to Keep God in everything I do. Because with out him anything I do won`t mean anything if I can`t bring glory to his name. I know that any success I gain is because of him, and NOBODY else! I will miss her, but I thank God for her ... and teaching my mom the word - which she is now passing down to me.

Personal Review;

A lot of times I always hate the fact that the songs I am feeling the most are the shortest. Aside from that I absolutely love the fact that he took it back with some 'Old school beats, with a new school twist' =]. Mase feat total; Tell me what you want, and (the at the time) Puff Daddy feat Mase; Can`t nobody hold me down (which originally originated from Grandmaster Flash - The Message) It shows that he is willing to pay homage to those before him (whether it be intentionally or unintentionally) However, he still kept it current by rapping some smooth lines over songs that we as the NOW generation would recognize. I enjoyed most songs, but there were some I would skip over. The overall mixtape I feel appeals to the R&B lovers (ex; Unthinkable), those who are looking for a nice flow over a tight beat (Runaway), and those looking for a message deeper then just the usual F**k a bi**h (ex; Light up). I can respect the mixtape, something I would say everyone should download.
